Area Associations Assisting in Church Planting

The Baptist Missionary Association of Central Oklahoma held its annual meeting yesterday at Sunray Baptist Church in Purcell…which you already know if you were the one who paid any attention to the hypothetical Twitter feed in my last post.

Pleasant Hill requested the financial assistance of the local association in planting the church in Norman. The messengers graciously granted that request. After lunch there was a meeting of the Missionary Advisory Committee for the state association. I’m a little sketchy on the details, as I was not at that meeting, but from what I have heard, they have agreed to support us as well.

We’re discussing some different ideas to begin laying some groundwork in Norman in the next few weeks for some small groups. I know we’re all anxious to get started—but willing to wait on the Lord’s timing, of course! There should be some more training in the next few weeks, and we hope some of the details may become more clear at that point.

We are so grateful to the Lord for His provision and guidance, to the BMA churches and people in Oklahoma for their support, and to all those around us for their prayers. Please continue to pray for Pleasant Hill and everyone involved in the mission in Norman!

“Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build […]” (Nehemiah 2:20, KJV).
